Enrichment Curriculum

At St Mark’s, we believe that every child is a unique and valuable individual, created in the image of God, and deserving of equal opportunities to flourish—regardless of social, economic, cultural, or racial background. Guided by our Christian values, we strive to ensure that each child knows the power of love: love for self, love for others, love for the places we live in and the enduring love of God.
We recognise that while the ideal of equity is central to our mission, the reality of upbringing and opportunity are not always equal. In response, we have created a distinctive Enrichment Curriculum—designed with compassion, purpose, and faith—to provide shared, transformative experiences that build bridges where gaps exist.
This curriculum is more than a programme of activities; it is a tapestry of memorable moments that enrich childhood, develop spirituality, nurture faith, and cultivate a deeper understanding of the world. It enhances cultural and social capital, ignites curiosity, and supports the academic and emotional growth of every learner.
We envision our school as a sanctuary of opportunity—where, for the disadvantaged, school can offer what home may not. Through inspiring lessons, meaningful visits, community connections, and strong partnerships with St Mark’s Church, we invite children into a life filled with joy, discovery, and dignity.
Together, as a united community, we have lovingly curated a list of experiences that every child should carry with them—not just as memories, but as stepping stones toward a life of purpose, happiness and faith.
As a staff, we have mapped out where enrichment activities will happen across the school. We recognise that some of these activities are circumstance-dependent. For example, ‘Play in the Snow’ and we are prepared to adapt our lessons or school days to take advantage of these opportunities. All members of staff are dedicated to ensuring that these pro-social experiences occur and are documented where possible, either written or photographed.
