Welcome

Welcome to St Mark's Church of England Primary School

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope it offers a glimpse into life at St Mark’s, though nothing compares to seeing our school in person. If you’d like to visit, please contact our school secretary, Mrs Richardson, who will be happy to arrange a tour.

St Mark’s CE Primary School was founded in 1849 and welcomes boys and girls aged 4 to 11. We currently have around 104 pupils, taught in four mixed-age classes. Set in a picturesque rural location behind the village church, our school serves children from Staplefield and surrounding areas, including Crawley, Haywards Heath, Cuckfield, Balcombe, Handcross and beyond.

We strive to create a Christian environment where every child feels valued, respected and safe. Our broad and inclusive curriculum is designed to be engaging, challenging and fun. Our nurturing ethos, combined with the charm of a traditional village school, helps children thrive both personally and academically.

We place great importance on building strong partnerships with families and the wider community, and we warmly invite you to be part of that journey.
